This weekend I attended BarCampRDU. It was an enjoyable event, but unfortunately I was only able to stay for about half of the day. I attended 2 sessions and facilitated one on (of course) Enterprise 2.0. I also helped out on the registration desk in the morning.
The sessions I attended were on:
- Health 2.0 - mostly about the dynamics around online patient data. The session was facilitated by Mark Scrimshire (@ekivemark on Twitter)
- Responsible Crowdsourcing - mainly focusing on appropriate compensation of crowdsourcing efforts. This session was facilitated by Justis Peters (@justis on Twitter)
We had about 20 people in the E2.0 session and there was quite a lively conversation. The main topics of discussion were:
- Barriers to acceptance of new IT tools
- The value of “non-work related” social interaction
- Are the current generation of “consumer” tools ready for enterprise adoption
- work-flow process
