First off is the mea maxima culpa … I screwed up and did not record the session due to a common technical problem known as USER ERROR.

Oh Well, next time I will know. I read somewhere recently that an expert is someone that has made every mistake possible in a narrow field of endeavor. One down, many more to go, then I can call myself a webinar expert.

I want to thank my panelists for participating and contributing their fantastic insight. If you want to find out more about them, here is the necessary info:

Michael has also published an online article that you may find interesting.

If you attended the webinar, I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

I would also like to thank Brian Russell, owner of Carrboro Creative Coworking for providing the space for setting up the “control center” for the webinar. The Internet connection at my house is sometimes a bit iffy. CCC’s synchronous T1 line was great to have.

E Quint Consulting is working with Near-Time to deliver a webinar series. The first one, scheduled for November 6 at 11:00a.m EST, is titled The Connected Enterprise: Using Social Connectivity to Drive Productivity. The webinar will consist of a panel discussion between some of the best practitioners in the field of Enterprise 2.0. Scheduled to participate are:

Lee Bryant, Co-Founder, Headshift

Michael Stallard, Founder, E Pluribus Partners

Mark Scrimshire, Founder, Ekive

The webinar will be co-hosted by:

Lee Buck, Co-Founder & CTO, Near-Time

Lee White, Founder, E Quint Consulting

The focus of the conversation will be around the factors that contribute to a successful Enterprise 2.0 implementation, and practical advice for carrying out such a project. Some of the questions the panel will address include:

How important are the social and behavioral aspect of creating a successful “connected enterprise” initiative, as opposed to the strictly technical aspects?

How does use of social tools in the enterprise lead to improvements in employee engagement and employee retention?

How does opening up information access reduce organizational risk?

Logistics for this webinar are underway and I will be posting them here shortly. So spread the word and tell people you know, that are looking for real, pragmatic information on improving organizational productivity, about this event.

See you there.

On October 2, 2008, E Quint Consulting will offer its first public workshop, Net Working. This workshop will be help attendees understand the value that social networking and other social media tools can bring to the workplace.

This is not a technology workshop.

The workshop will deal with the cultural and behavioral issues related to open sharing of information across an organization. It will focus on how to improve engagement, collaboration and decision making with effective use of social media. Attendees will also get an overview of some of the best enterprise-class social tools available and hear case studies about other companies that are actually getting real bottom-line value from this approach.

The target audience for this workshop are individuals in

Human Resources

Internal Communication

Training

Project Management

Sr. Management

…Or anyone else that is interested in how to make their organization operate more effectively.

I am excited about putting on this event, and I hope it proves valuable to the attendees. E Quint will definitely be offering more workshops in the future. So even if you cannot attend this workshop, drop me a comment and I will let you know when we offer the next one.

Let me know what you think, or, if you are really ready to jump in, go ahead and…

In one of the sessions I attended at Enterprise 2.0 in June, I had the good fortune to sit next to Lee Bryant and Christoph Schmaltz from Headshift. Of course I had heard of Headshift, having read about them and heard about them through my contacts and colleagues, but this was the first chance I had to meet them IRL.

During that session I began to realize that Headshift and E Quint Consulting were amazingly well aligned with regard to process and approach for E2.0 deployment. Needless to say, by the end of the day I was deep in conversation with Lee and Christoph about developments in the E2.0 market, in general , and how each of us approached our client engagements, in particular.

Over the following weeks, Lee, his co-founding partner at Headshift, Livio Hughes and I kept the conversation going. We agreed to start exchanging and sharing experiences and knowledge, in support of each others’ business objectives. And you never know where this will lead…

I am very excited about having met some of the Headshift folks in real life and the prospect of working together. Having access to the knowledge and experience of Europe’s premier Enterprise 2.0 consultancy will provide a huge benefit to E Quint’s clients.

The core of E Quint Consulting is helping clients listen to stakeholders as part of their decision process. As part of E Quint’s engagement process, and to help the client better understand their own issues, here are three questions I will bring to the table:

What are the most important decisions that you are accountable for?

Who is impacted by those decisions?

How are you currently listening to those stakeholders?

This simple set of questions will get to the root of how I can help a client. The purpose is to open up a dialog about issues the client is facing and possible solutions for addressing those issues.
